5 Loyal Deliverers
In line with our SMART goals. We were able to get 5 deliverers by the end of the project. Even though we faced many problems during our beta trials and many volunteers did not return, we managed to get these 5 loyal deliverers. These volunteers were deliverers mainly because they wanted to do good which is the main aim of DeliveryForGood.
These volunteers were very helpful as they were the main deliverers who were participating in our beta trials. They were able to provide quality feedback on how to improve the app and the process as they had done multiple deliveries. This benefitted us a lot as we used the important feedback and shared it with Mr Aaron to improve on DeliverForGood as a whole.
What helped us to get these deliverers was our roadshow that we held to recruit our initial volunteers and through our posters we pasted around school. During our roadshow, we promoted the BevEat app and the DeliveryForGood ‘hitch’ food delivery service and recruited students to be volunteers for our beta trials.
Our roadshow helped a lot as we were able to educate students on our service and directly interact with them and get them to sign up with us. Our posters also helped as we were able to convey the message of our service donating to charity through every transaction made. This helped to educate our volunteers which contributed to us being able to get 5 loyal deliverers who wanted to do good.

199 Downloads
38 Transactions
Our original SMART goal was to obtain 400 downloads of the BevEat app. However, we were only able to achieve about half of that with 199 downloads. It was during our roadshow that we were able to get most of our downloads as we were able to promote DeliveryForGood and get people to download the BevEat app. Interested students came to our booth and we were able to educate them them further. We assisted them in downloading the BevEat app so that they can order using DeliveryForGood if they wanted to.
However, after our roadshow, we did not promote to get people to download the BevEat as much. We did not post on our Instagram to get people to download the app and did not push for it as much as we should have. This led to us not getting more downloads of the app which led to only getting 199 downloads in total.
Our beta trials of the service were shortened and ended up only being 2 weeks. There were many complications with the end to end process of our service. Starting from the initial steps such as the topping up the customer’s and deliverer’s e-wallet. As such, the entire end to end process was very bumpy and we found out from our volunteers that it was very troublesome.
During our 2 week trial period, we were only able to get 38 transactions, as compared to our initial target of 100 transactions in 3 months. We did not foresee so many challenges and did not anticipate for the worst. Another factor that led to us shortening the trial period was students’ exam dates and busy submission dates.
As our beta trial testers were students from Ngee Ann, we relied heavily on them for manpower and to participate in our beta trials. We did not plan for periods like this and were caught off guard when the busy periods came as we had a major shortage in manpower and were not able to carry on our beta trials as planned as our volunteers were not free.
